About CSA
CSA is one of the oldest, largest, and most well respected schools in the United States. CSA has taught over 40,000 mariners since 1964.
The basic teaching techniques used at CSA were developed by our Director, Paul J. Miller who was graduated from the United States Naval Academy Annapolis in the top ten percent, and wrote his thesis on the techniques of teaching sailing for a masters degree. Paul went back to the Academy, taught chemistry and coached the sailing team. Later he taught Astrophysics at UCLA and Astronomy at the Griffith Park Observatory.
CSA courses utilize classroom, videos, workbooks, models.
CSA teaches accredited sailing and navigation programs through many universities and colleges.
CSA courses prepare you to become licensed with The United States Coast Guard and/or accredited with the American Sailing Association (ASA).
