ABOUT
CSA
CSA is one of the oldest, largest,
and most well respected schools in the United States.
CSA has taught over 40,000 students to sail since 1964.
The basic teaching techniques used at CSA were developed
by our Director, Paul J. Miller who was graduated from the
United States Naval Academy Annapolis in the top ten percent,
coached the sailing team, teaches Astrophysics and wrote
his thesis on the techniques of teaching sailing for a masters
degree .

CSA courses utilize classroom, videos, workbooks, models,
and (of course) on the water instruction. CSA recognizes
that the best way to learn is by experience, so 80% of your
time is spent on the water.
CSA teaches accredited sailing and navigation programs through
many universities and colleges, including UCLA extension
and Pepperdine University.
CSA courses prepare you to become licensed with The United
States Coast Guard and/or accredited with the American Sailing
Association (ASA). Paul Miller teaches for schools across
our Nation as well as Canada.
