Channel
Islands Adventure
From: CSA 4 Bare boat Sailing Student September 2001
Arch Rock, at the East end of Anacapa Island seemed so close you could
almost touch it, as we five Sailing Students, and our fearless Instructor
Paul Miller, sailed by during our CSA 4 Bareboat Course. Sailing among
the Channel Islands during the long 2001 Labor Day Holiday weekend
was both fun and very instructional. From our depature on Friday morning
from the Channel Islands Harbor to our return on Monday Afternoon
to Marina Del Rey the four day trip on the water was quite an adventure
and learning experience. From the pre-planning meeting a few weeks
before the sailing trip to our arrival dockside, to the sailing and
navigating among the Channel Islands, to preparing meals on board
and dropping a hook (anchor to you landlovers), to using the head
(bathroom to you landlovers) it was an intensive and interesting lesson
on how to charter your own sail boat in the future and make your own
sailing vacation. It has been a week since I have been back and I
still feel I am rocking back and forth a little bit. What fun! I can
not wait to do it again. Maybe CSA has a Catalina Trip coming up soon?
Paul Miller and the rest of the CSA staff Thanks for a great, fun,
and safe sailing experience.
