AT CSA

WHY CHOOSE CALIFORNIA SAILING ACADEMY?

California Sailing Academy (CSA) has been a complete training facility for both recreational sailors and professionals in the maritime industry since 1963. CSA has prepared mariners for Coast Guard Examinations for many years. Understanding the need for more in-depth courses CSA built a comprehensive United States Coast Guard approved program and exams. Numerous courses are offered which culminate with exams the school has prepared to test the student.

The student can now enjoy the courses and take the exams within the comforts of California Sailing Academy or UCLA extension classrooms. Upon successful completion of the courses and exams, a diploma is issued which can be taken to the United States Coast Guard within one year for issuance of the appropriate license.

FREE LODGING ABOARD OUR VESSELS IS AVAILIABLE DURING THE COURSES.

WHY A USCG LICENSE:

In order to operate a vessel carrying passengers for hire it is necessary to be licensed by the United States Coast Guard. This applies to any form of work such as taking people fishing, diving or any other such activity. If you have dreamed of being a Charter Captain driving a luxury yacht or simply operating the Yacht Club Launch taking people to their vessels, CSA is the place you start.

CSA DOES THE JOB!

Our courses are not exam prep courses. Our courses help you understand the concepts, thus you easily pass the exam.

There are some prep schools where the student spends days on end going through questions and answers on a computer until they can answer the exam questions, this is not the case at California Sailing Academy. We make every effort to enable you to become a better educated, more responsible and safer Captain. CSA also strives to bring your knowledge base and reasoning power up to the point of passing the exams.

If you have attended all the classes within a course along with doing your homework and do not pass the exam you may retake the course and exam at no charge.
