Some of Our Fleet:
The School maintains a fleet of Sailing vessels for our students and members use. As a student completes the basic sailing course (CSA 1) they may check out on a Class A vessel. These vessels are between 14 and 16 feet in length and are pure sailing vessels. The check out is three hours in length. After two hours of private instruction the Instructor steps off and observes the student soloing for the next hour. If all is well the new Sailor is qualified to sail the small boats around the Marina either alone or with passengers.
Class A Vessels:
Capri 14 # 1 Rental rate of approximately $ 13 per hour.
Capri 14 # 2 Rental rate of approximately $ 13 per hour.
Solumn 16 Rental rate of approximately $ 13 per hour.
After sailing the Class A vessels for a total of 9 hours, a check out on the Class B vessels may be scheduled. Generally the students sail the A vessels 2 or 3 hours a day. These vessels have a 5 hp outboard engine and are thus auxiliary sailing vessels. After the check out and completion of reading the Santa Monica Bay section on the Navigation Bars along with successfully passing the theoretical exam at the end of the section, the sailors may take the vessels into the Ocean with passengers.
Class B Vessels:
Merit 22.1 & Merit 22.2 Length 22 feet outboard engine

Rents for approximately $ 70 per day
Merit 25 Length 25 feet outboard engine
Sleeps 3
Rents for approximately $ 85 per day
After sailing the Class B vessels for a total of 12 hours and completion of the Intermediate sailing course which is CSA 2, the sailor can be checked out on the Ericson 29. The vessel may be bay sailed or overnighted in Redondo or Paradise Cove.
After completion of the Advanced Sailing Course (CSA 3) and the Bare Boat Course (CSA 4) the vessel may be taken for an unlimited time to the off shore island Catalina Island.
